For over 20 years, Aram and Rose Serobian have been inviting friends and neighbors into Home restaurant, a Craftsman-style house in Los Feliz, which they said reminded them of back home. Aram grew up in a large family, and he and his mother would do all the cooking and entertaining in their large backyard. When Aram first saw the cozy bungalow and front patio, he knew what he had to name it: Home. At Home, they offer a throughout-the-day menu of modern comfort and California cuisine, beer and wine, and craft cocktails. Everything is made from scratch, with menu stand-outs like the short rib pot pie and brunch favorite French toast, made with thick slices of challah bread topped with fresh berries. The garden patio offers an oasis in the middle of the city, with two large trees providing shade and cover. Twinkly lights and a running fountain make for a warm and comfortable setting any time of the day. In 2008, they opened their second Home location in Silverlake, again converting a large patio into a cozy place for brunch, lunch, or dinner. The key to their success is how they treat each guest like a friend or family member visiting them in their home. They recently opened The Guest House next door to allow for expansion, with a completely different menu and cocktail experience. Aram and Rose, and now son Nick, can be seen at all their locations doing what they do best—overseeing the hospitality and ensuring each guest feels right at Home.
